About the role
Working in one of our Frictionless car hire teams, you will be responsible for the definition and delivery of the â€˜Customer Identityâ€™ proposition for our organisation. This is a new product for BookingGo which will facilitate the development of other high priority initiatives such as customer pre-registration and fast track, KYC checks, keyless car access and eventually autonomous vehicles. These initiatives will form a significant part of the BookingGo vision and strategy over the next 3 years and all contribute to an increasingly â€˜frictionlessâ€™ car hire experience.
We are also working harder than ever to add value to our supply chain and this includes dealing with an extended network of car hire supply partners around the globe. Part of interaction with our partners is to ensure we are serving the right customer booking information to them in a timely, appropriate and compliant fashion.
The ultimate aim is massively reduced friction for our customers before they pick up their next car, and reduced operational overhead for our supply partners.
We are looking for a highly motivated Product Owner who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and lives to delight our customers and our extensive network of supply partners. You get the importance of solid discovery, to dig into customer desirability, commercial viability, idea feasibility, and operationalisation of your ideas. Being both customer and commercially-focussed comes naturally to you. You will report directly into a Senior Product Owner. To successfully deliver change in a fast-paced working environment you will need to:
Develop a deep understanding of current and future customer, business and supply partner needs
Work with the Senior Product Owner and other senior stakeholders to define the overall strategy vision for your product to deliver against those needs.Â
Work collaboratively with a delivery team of developers, designers and testers to design and deliver products to delight our customers.
Be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of your product, including wider integration with Booking.com and supply partner systems as needed.
Work with agile coaches and your team to drive continuous efficiency improvements.
Communicate with multiple key stakeholders to keep them up to date and bought into your product development.Â

Desired Skills & Experience
3+ years experience working as a product owner or similar role
Proven experience of working effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders
Excellent problem-solving skills, with demonstrable experience especially in the discovery phase
Outstanding communication skills
Strong organisational & time management skills
Strong Excel and SQL experience preferable
You value the art of conversation
Great analytical skills
Pragmatic, proactive and progressive
Lean and agile approach: the art of doing as little as possible to learn as much as we can. Agile experience therefore essential
Comfortable with going deep into discovery before final build
