About the role

Taking full commercial responsibility for delivering profitable growth in a large number of’s key markets across the globe, including innovating in the market place

Building deep, supportive relationships with the leading supply partners in those markets and successfully negotiating their support for mutual growth

Leading and developing a sizable team, improving their ways of working

Key responsibilities

Product and Market Management

  • Leading the team negotiating the details (e.g. type or terms and conditions) of products with supply partners and for ensuring the accurate definition of products across our sales channels
  • Ensuring understand the competitiveness of their offer through the tracking of market pricing, promotions and products


Commercial Management / Cost Management / Revenue Management

  • Defining and executing the commercial strategy and regularly tracking performance against it
  • Leading daily pricing processes based on Revenue Management best practices
  • Leading weekly Trading Reviews to track progress against volume and margin targets, identify growth opportunities and risks and agree actions to address them
  • Regularly forecasting performance vs. targets and updating strategies and plans to exceed target
  • Negotiating the best rates, commissions and promotions with our suppliers to enable a competitive price position and margin protection

Supplier Management / Relationship Management

  • Generating and maintaining outstanding supplier partnerships using sound communication and relationship management techniques
  • Working alongside our key suppliers to develop plans to achieve the commercial and customer strategy and objectives of both sides
  • Researching and developing opportunities for working with new suppliers to broaden customer choice and to achieve volume and margin growth

People Management and Development / Self-Management

  • Driving exceptional team performance through defining and supporting delivery of performance objectives through regular one to ones and monthly reviews
  • Supporting the development of you team by continually assessing training needs and putting plans in place to achieve
  • Acting as a role model for the team through demonstrating excellent personal performance and effectiveness, professionalism and ethics

Department and Company Projects

  • Leading and/or supporting implementation of departmental improvement projects as well as acting as a representative of the department on business improvement initiatives

Customer service

  • Developing and maintaining professional working relationships across the business with all key internal departments to drive the best customer experience possible
  • Working in collaboration with Customer Service Managers to ensure timely resolution of customer service cases
  • Working in partnership across supply network to ensure that customer satisfaction targets are hit and to define action plans to rectify issues


Operational Management

  • Driving team efficiency through a prompt and professional handling of queries that impact commercial performance of the business

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Product and Commercial Role, ideally within the travel sector


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Product and Commercial Role, ideally within the travel sector, and relevant proven analytical A levels or Degree


  • Microsoft Office applications, especially basic/intermediate use of Excel and PowerPoint
