TravelJigsaw Limited (trading as Rentalcars.com) a company based in the United Kingdom, is the data controller of any personal data you submit through the Site during your job application process.

 

Your job application process will be managed by Greenhouse Software, Inc. who is the data processor of any personal data you submit through the Site during your job application process. Greenhouse Software, Inc.’s privacy policy can be found at http://www.greenhouse.io/privacy-policy.

Cookies

When you access the Site, TMP Worldwide uses functional and analytical cookies to collect the following information: IP information, device identifiers, type of operating system you are using, your location, mobile network information, standard web log data and other information. Personal data submitted by you

As part of the application process, you will be required to submit personal data, otherwise we will not be able to process your application. This includes personal data such as:

 

  • Your first name and last name;
  • Your contact information e.g. home address, email address and phone number;
  • CV and cover letter;
  • Current and desired salary;
  • Job role applied for;
  • Assessment result (if applicable);
  • Employee referral or other sources e.g. LinkedIn.

We may also obtain personal data about you from third parties such as recruitment agencies, employee referrals, LinkedIn. The personal data you submit directly and any additional personal data received about you from third parties will be used to assess your skills and suitability for career opportunities at Rentalcars.com and to process your application.

 

Disclosure

We may share your personal data with members of the Rentalcars.com group to assess whether your application is suitable for the job role you have applied for. Your personal data will be accessed employees or agents of the Rentalcars.com group on a need to know basis. We may need to involve service providers to process your personal data. These service providers will always act on our behalf and they will be obligated to protect your personal data consistently with the terms of this Notice. We may need to disclose your personal data when we believe, in our sole discretion, that this is necessary to:

 

  • protect the rights and/or safety of Rentalcars.com and/or its employees, agents and contractors;

  • comply with the law or a legal process or as necessary for the prevention, detection or prosecution of criminal acts and fraud.

We also use security procedures and technical and physical restrictions for accessing and using the personal information on our servers. Only authorised personnel are permitted to access personal data in the course of their job role.

 

Assessment

Depending on the job role, you may be requested to perform an online assessment to establish whether you meet certain job requirements (e.g. language tests, job preview and competency test if you want to work for the customer service team, language tests and translation tests if you want to work for the content team, or a coding test if you want to work as a software developer). A decision could be taken by automated means (i.e. algorithms) which you will receive via an automatically generated notification. Your assessment results shall be automatically transferred to Rentalcars.com and will be part of your application file. Your assessment results may be used to provide specific training and/or coaching during the employment with Rentalcars.com and your assessment results may be shared with managers and/or coaches for this purpose.  If you do not meet the assessment requirements, your job application procedure shall be terminated. Consequently, you may be blocked from applying for the same position within Rentalcars.com through the Site for 6 months. This is to prevent applicants from undertaking several assessments in a short period of time. After 6 months you may apply again for the same position within Rentalcars.com, including for the same job role. If you have questions about the automated decision-making tool used by Rentalcars.com, please contact us at talent@rentalcars.com. If you are unhappy that an automated decision has been taken, please contact us within 21 days to ask us to reconsider the decision or to take a new decision on a different basis. 

 

Screening 

If your application is successful, your personal data will be used for a pre-employment screening check by a third party. Depending on the job role, a pre-employment screening may include verification of skill proficiency, criminal history, financial history and other information that may be necessary for determining your qualifications for the job role at Rentalcars.com. You will be informed thoroughly about the entire screening process beforehand separately.

 

Retention of personal data

If Rentalcars.com employs you, we will share your relevant personal data with the employing member of the Rentalcars.com group. The personal data collected during your application process will become part of your personnel records. TravelJigsaw Limited may retain the personal data collected during your application process for a period of 7 years (as applicable) following the termination of your employment with Rentalcars.com, unless otherwise required by applicable law. If Rentalcars.com does not employ you, TravelJigsaw Limited may nevertheless continue to retain and use your personal data in order to consider you for new positions. Rentalcars.com may refer back to an earlier application in case you submit a new application in the future. In this respect TravelJigsaw Limited may retain your personal data for a period of 24 months following termination of the job application procedure, unless otherwise required by applicable law. Please contact talent@rentalcars.com if you do not wish to be contacted by Rentalcars.com.com for new job vacancies.

 

Accessing or changing your personal data

You always have the right to review the personal data we keep about you. You can request an overview of your personal data by emailing us at datarights@rentalcars.com. Please state “Request Personal Data” in the subject line of your email. If the personal data we have for you is incorrect, we will update it upon your request. You can also ask us to remove your personal data from our database by sending an email to datarights@rentalcars.com with “Request for Removal of Personal Data” in the subject line of your email. However, we may need to retain certain information, for example for legal or administrative purposes, such as record keeping or to detect fraudulent activities.
